The well-known, very talented amateur rider Wayne Barr suffered a fatal accident on July 22. He met his fate while competing at the Saratoga Summer Celebration in Stillwater, New York. Wayne Barr was a true equestrian enthusiast who had limitless love for horses. He was so much more than just an amazing rider.
Wayne loved spending time at the barn sharing his love and passion for horses with so many more. This great person is sadly no more between us. The consequence of this tragic incident has left everyone heartbroken.
Equestrian Wayne Barr bids an unexpected goodbye

An amazing rider and a more beautiful person, Wayne Barr who was just 59-year-old when he passed away after a fatal accident. This heartbreaking incident took place on July 22, while he was competing at the Saratoga Summer Celebration ins Stillwater, New York. Wayne was riding the horse Pacco, who is an 8-year-old Belgian warmblood. In a training jumper class, the horse had an awkward jump that left Barr unseated. This resulted in the fall after several strides.
A spokesman from Saratoga Horse expressed, “Wayne managed to hold on for several strides, but subsequently, he fell off the horse. The ambulance was on site within minutes, and he was immediately transported to Albany Medical Center where he later passed.” Both of Wayne’s sons, Thomas and Spencer and the entire Kula equestrian family were extremely heartbroken. According to Horse and Hound, it is stated that in this accident, the horse was uninjured.

The passing away of Wayne Barr has been heartbreaking to the entire equestrian community
Mr. Wayne Barr was president, chief executive, and director of the INNOVATE Corp. All of them associated with Barr have extended their sympathies to his family. Trainer Marcia Kulak had no words to properly express how she felt. She expressed, “We can take some solace in knowing that Wayne loved his family and his equestrian endeavors with his horses. He was truly a gentleman, and his passing has left an enormous hole in our hearts.”

The Saratoga Horse Show’s team also extended their very heartfelt condolences and love to Mr. Barr’s family and loved ones. They added, “Wayne was a wonderful, well-respected exhibitor, and we too are heartbroken.” Wayne Barr developed a young child’s love of these beautiful animals, into a lifelong devotion that had an immense effect on the equestrian community.
