American diver Clark Appleby visited the Bahamas two years back and filmed a video for his YouTube channel. He can be seen having a fearful moment when a bullshark swims a few meters away from him. The next moment the shark abruptly snatched his spear with its mouth and flung it into the ocean’s depths. It was at this moment he was certain about leaving the area as soon as possible. Without looking back he quickly swam away rising to the surface.

The fact that everything took place 86 feet below the surface was another significant drawback of being in Appleby’s position. He prodded the shark while moving away, distracting its attention from him. He was extremely fortunate to survive an almost tragic underwater experience. From there on he continued to make content on @clarkappleby. Although he uploaded the video on June 29, 2021, it was only recently that it resurfaced after a report by a-z-animal.

While he continues to engage his audience on social media one cannot help but rule out the ways the encounter could have gone wrong. The 2021 update showed that the Bahamas witnessed fewer than 82 incidences per year on average over the previous five years (2014–18). While the annual global average fatality rate was also in line with the annual cases observed. However, a few weeks back a 73-Year-Old narrated a harrowing incident that happened in the Bahamas.
