Dave Portnoy Awards New Hampshire Pizza Way Above Average In Recent Review

Dave Portnoy loves pizza. He has been described as a ‘sommelier of pizza’ by none other than Joe Rogan, with Elon Musk the guest on his eponymous podcast. Rogan went on to detail what he could remember about Portnoy’s system for pizza analysis. Musk was left awestruck by the titbits shared.

Dave Portnoy’s pizza reviews took him to New Hampshire for the first time. He stopped by Mike’s Pie in the town of Hudson. While there, he ordered a traditional round pie and the Sweet Sicilian, the pizza for which those at Mike’s Pie claimed they are known. True to form, Portnoy took a solitary bite from each pie and offered his insight.

A 7.2 for Mike’s Pie from Dave Portnoy

Admittedly, Dave Portnoy had come to Mike’s after visiting Joanie’s. The latter location sourced one of the best pizza pies Portnoy had eaten in recent times. He gave it an 8.4 out of 10 but noted it could even score as high as 9.1. Portnoy ate the whole pie, as he revealed. He admittedly was full, as a result. Portnoy was not the only one who reviewed the pizza from Mike’s Pie. He got another customer at that location involved.

The other customer, a traveling salesman, rated the round pie a 7.1 out of 10. Dave Portnoy gave the pizza a 7.2. He noted he liked the traditional round pie just a little more than the Sweet Sicilian, the highlight of that establishment. Portnoy said, “This is sweet, sweet sauce. I gotta be honest, I like the round pie a little more even though this is the Sicilian.” He also shared an interesting story.

El Presidente and the owner of Mike’s have a mutual friend?

The proprietor of Mike’s Pie revealed he and Dave Portnoy may perhaps have a friend in common. An unnamed lady in town, as the owner revealed, texted the self-styled El Presidente in the past. She invited Portnoy to a pool party in nearby Litchfield, with the Barstool Sports CEO agreeing to drop by Mike’s en route. Portnoy, for his part, denied ever having planned a trip to Litchfield, New Hampshire.

Dave Portnoy gave the owner feedback after the tasting and the pair took a picture together before parting ways. Given the success that was this trip, Portnoy may be back in New Hampshire for a pie soon enough.
