“You Are Ostracizing”: Ariel Winter Calls Out Lance Armstrong After His Statement on Trans Athletes Faces Backlash From Stars on Mars Co-Stars

Renowned former cyclist and television personality Lance Armstrong has found himself embroiled in a controversy. During an episode of the reality show Stars on Mars, Armstrong shared his perspective on transgender athletes. Engaging in a discussion with fellow contestants, he proposed the idea of having transgender athletes compete in a separate category.

The suggestion ignited a fervent debate beyond the cycling world. Actress Ariel Winter emerged as a vocal advocate against Armstrong’s comments, leading the charge in calling him out.

Armstrong’s Remarks Ignite Backlash

Lance Armstrong has found himself ensnared in allegations of hypocrisy due to his recent opinion on transgender athletes participating in their own distinct category. To this, the Modern Family actress expressed, “You are ostracizing the people don’t fit in the categories,” dissenting with his remark.

Armstrong expressed his acceptance of individuals in transition, but also advocated for the establishment of a separate division to uphold fairness in competition. However, singer Tinashe, interjected with concerns regarding the potential marginalization of these individuals and emphasized the importance of avoiding such authorization. He stated, “Kind of like exclude them from the same spaces and places that everybody else is.” After Armstrong expressed his opinions, his fellow actors on Stars on Mars joined together to denounce his beliefs, stating that his comments were both uninformed and unsettling.

Co-Star Adam Rippon Calls for Inclusion

Adam Rippon, in particular, expressed his disappointment, and conceded “For these trans girls to compete in sports, they need to be on these testosterone blockers foryears. Where their testosterone levels will be below other biological female women.”
