Back in the early 2000s, the Tour de France became a sport which many sports fans watched. The impact that Lance Armstrong had on the sport was right up there with the best. However, things went south as the talented cyclist failed a doping test, which led to his downfall. With all the cameras panned on him, he appeared on Oprah to open up on his troubles. With all his seven Tour de France stripped off, he has nothing to show out apart from many memorable moments.

Moreover, he attends talk shows and interviews these days as revealed his favorite F1 driver and Tennis player.
Lance Armstrong reveals the two GOATs
During a podcast, Armstrong was asked to comment on the greatest athletes in Tennis and Formula One. He revealed Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic and Britain’s Lewis Hamilton.
“Djokovic is the number one player, well yeah duh! Lewis Hamilton is the number one driver in F1 because he has most points and wins. No s***. We had that in cycling, we don’t have that anymore,” said Armstrong.

Even though Armstrong attained the status of greatest back in the early 2000s, the doping scandal damaged his reputation as the GOAT of cycling. Likewise, he revealed how the sport did not have a major name like him right now. With no major superstars breaking out of cycling, Armstrong may be right. But, is he right about Djokovic and Sir Lewis?

Djokovic won 20 Grandslam titles while being the current number one in the world. With a record of nine Australian Open titles, he is equaled with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for the most Grand Slam titles won in tennis. What stands him apart would be the head-to-head record against both these players. He leads both Federer (27-23) and Nadal (30-28) with that record. Hence, as fans consider those players to be the GOATs; with tennis, being an individual sport, it makes sense.

Meanwhile, Hamilton’s case seems concrete. Although doubts regarding his driving skills always exist because of the car that Mercedes put forward, he is an incredible champion. Winning seven F1 titles is a testament to his hard work and passion. Likewise, he is the first person to reach triple-digits for most wins in F1 history with 102. Significantly, he also leads for most points (4121.5), most consecutive point finishes (48), most podium finishes (180) as the list goes on. Many consider Michael Schumacher to be the GOAT but Hamilton has a case!
