The only gold medal Great Britain won at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 was in the women’s curling event. While they won a silver medal in the men’s curling, the 31-year-old curler Eve Muirhead led Great Britain women’s curling team to a 10-3 victory against Japan in the finals. It was a very special moment for the team as they’ve won an Olympic gold medal in curling after 20 years. The five-membered curling team was led by Eve Muirhead, and the rest of the members included Vicky Wright, Jennifer Dodds, and Hailey Duff, plus alternate Mili Smith.
Beijing Winter Olympic champions got rid of their tracksuits
After bringing home the gold from the Olympics, the British curling team lose their sports tracksuits and dressed as glamorous young ladies as they are for the post winning photoshoot. Their golden dresses would certainly match perfectly with their gold medals. The team member, Hailey Duff, said jokingly, “I almost didn’t recognize them,” while the skipper Eve Muirhead said, “it’s been so long since I wore heels I can’t remember how. And I don’t miss it at all.”
Well, the team is certainly enjoying all the perks of their Olympic victory. Interviews, photoshoots and a congratulation from the Queen, this is their life now post Olympics. On their photoshoot for a magazine, the 21-year-old Mili Smith said, “I’ve never done anything like that before. Why would you? But it was fun.”
