More than 200 bull riding events are on the schedule for PBR fans each season. There are still two more competitions until the season-ending championship, but time is running out. A lot of people are looking forward to this year’s finals because second-placed Brazilian cowboy Jose Vitor Leme (798 points) has a chance to redeem himself in the bull-riding world. Kaique Pacheco, an opponent from the same nation, is now ranked first with 927 points. Fans are intrigued by the Brazilian dominance this year after American cowboy Daylon Swearingen stole Leme’s hat trick championship from him last year. Another Brazilian cowboy, presently ranked seventh, is doing all he can to get up the ranks before the finals and take home the $1 million prize money.

Everett’s Angel of the Winds Arena hosted the Professional Bull Riders on Thursday night. As the conclusion of the bull riding season draws near, so does the excitement and anticipation surrounding the sport. However, with more attention comes greater pressure for the world’s best bull riders. At the time of his mount on the bull named Blood Moon, the seventh-ranked Brazilian cowboy Eduardo Aparecido shocked the whole arena.

If you’re a fan of bull riding, Thursday night was the night to be there. Out of a total of 15 riders, only seven made it to the final round. Eduardo Aparecido was successful in both rounds, as seen by his astounding 89 on his very first ride on the War Department. However, in the sport of bull riding, fortune may change in an instant if the rider loses his seat on the bull, and that instant can even create horrors that nobody wants to think about. But as brightly as Everett’s stars shone that night, so did the Brazilian’s cowboy abilities in the PBR’s championship match.

As the final round of the competition began, the first three riders received no points since they were all quickly bucked off by their designated bulls. However, American cowboy Boudreaux Campbell, who is ranked sixth in the world, scored the opening point of the finals with an impressive 88.50 points. The following two riders were both bucked off immediately and had their scores reset to zero as well.

Eduardo Aparecido rode the last bull before the festivities began. The whole tournament had devolved into a fight between the world’s sixth- and seventh-ranked players. As soon as the metal chute was removed, Blood Moon went completely crazy in the arena, trying to buck off the Brazilian cowboy. Aparecido, though, remained resolute and rebuffed the bull at each step, eventually winning with a tremendous 91-point buzzer-beater.
