One of the most exciting years for bull riding rookies, 2023 has witnessed some memorable rodeo moments. Bidding a farewell to the season, PBR Albany, New York, witnessed some exhilarating action. While the dominance of a champion continued, PBR Unleash the Beast saw new faces rise to the occasion. Of those best performers was Kaiden Loud.

After an exciting debut last year in January, Loud entered the fifth event of the 2024 Premier Series campaign, ranking 39 overall. The 18-year-old qualified for the UTB round with a 4-for-12 record during his first summer. Now, he has truly unleashed himself on the beast.

Texas Cowboy Shines in New York

Entering the UTB campaign, Kaiden Loud was drafted to ride the Red Scorpion. Rising to the occasion, he performed flawlessly for the given 8 seconds. Appreciating his mesmerizing performance, PBR shouted out to the rookie on Instagram. Posting the video of his ride, PBR wrote, “Kaiden Loud. The rookie had a flawless weekend in Albany, NY”. In the first round, Loud tied with winner Austin Richardson.

Riding Boo Ray in the first round, Loud scored 86.5 points. He was drafted for Smooth Over It in the 2nd round, scoring another 85.75 points. While he tied for a 5th position in the second round, Loud finished a career-best second in PBR Albany. Richardson, on the other hand, racked up a perfect 3-for-3 performance, scoring 157 points to become the champion.

Kaiden Loud’s incredible bull riding career

Kaiden Loud stormed into the 5-on-5 scene with a 90-point ride aboard Boomerang during the second-ever Stampede days. At the start of 2023, he rode at the Bell County PRCA rodeo. He only performed in the first round, securing a third position on the charts with a score of 86. Later in BullNanza, the 18-year-old secured the 10th position. But soon, he was going into the career-best era of his life.

The Texas man has now achieved the career-best ranking of 9th in the bull riding tour standings. Amassing 117.5 Unleash the Beast points, he is now only 241 points behind the No.1 ranked Cassio Dias. Although Loud has loved to be more consistent with his performances last season, he would surely be eyeing the No.1 PBR rank in 2024.
