PBR’s world championship regular season, Unleash the Beast, presents and introduces some of the best riders to the community. Be it the veterans or the aspirants, the Cowboys have a fair ground to impress the bull riding crowd. Decades into the operation and thousands of spectacle riders later, the industry giant stands to host a newer excelling bunch.

Caden Bunch, John Crimber, Cassio Dias, and more have been the names recently gracing the bull riding industry. The lot has presented a lead across forums in a promising continuation. One among the rising names falls Brazil’s ascending champion, Felipe Furlan; a 22-year-old with a growling accolades list.

A bull riding rookie, not so anymore

PBR’s 2024 UTB regular season has marked its beginning to tour the nation and fetch the finest of the riders. For the 6th week of the season, PBR reached the Madison Square Garden for the 17th time. On the sold-out grounds of the most famous arena, Felipe Furlan put up a performance for the crowd to gush over. “Veteran moves by the rookie Felipe Furlan aboard Sly,” PBR wrote as they shared Furlan’s 85.75-point ride for round 3 of the stop.

“I am really impressed with this ride right here,” one of the commentators can be heard saying. “You see this bull kind of stutter step around there but he never panics and that’s such a veteran move right there. Cause a lot of times, you can get ahead of the bulls.”  The score brought Furlan’s event total to 158.50 points, garnering 37 extra as UTB points. With that and a win prior, the bull riding rookie icon is on the way to greater heights.

A growing career for Felipe Furlan

Felipe started his bull riding career as a 19-year-old in 2021. Since then, the Brazil native has had 143 mounts across 79 stops. With 3 90-point rides, Furlan has also made it to the Mussoorie Thunder roster as a remarkable rookie. Continuing further, the youngster found his name on PBR’s ‘The Future is Now: UTB rookies thriving in the spotlight’ list. Most recently, while focusing on UTB, Furlan stepped ahead to not miss an opportunity to dominate grounds outside.

At the forty-fourth iteration of the PBR Stockyards Showcase inside the iconic Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, Furlan ruled the arena with a perfect 2-on-2. The event win earned him 59 Velocity Global points. As for UTB, the 22-year-old stands 15th in the world standings with 115.50 and $19,416 in earnings. The rookie is on a noticeable path to gaining bull riding excellence favor.
