It’s the season for NFR finals and for bull riding enthusiasts, the combination often rings one name, Sage Kimzey. The rodeo star who made his debut in 2013, took only a year to etch his name in PRCA. 6 consecutive World titles and the rider has been the greatest of his generation. Though the highest number of titles hasn’t been marked to his name, with his one last NFR showcase, Kimzey aims to equal the record with Don Gay.

The PRCA is on track with its NFR championships for the 2023 season, demanding the presence of the finest rodeo stars. Kimzey, coming in after a break pushed forth by an injury, has been on a soaring graph amongst the rest. Today, as he added yet another win, the champion had his absolute best by his side to celebrate the trajectory.

Kimzey’s wife and rodeo journalist, Alexis has been a constant companion throughout his journey. Cheering him at his worst and celebrating at his best, Alexis has been a strong force. On the 13th as he clinched another plaque, Alexis crafted a blissful note for the victor. A night of blessings. She started. Sage got the round win this morning, tying with our Frost family! We’re tired but thriving…This being our last NFR, we’re enjoying the ride.

Ever since he took his first steps in the industry, PRCA has been the primary ground for Kimzey. However, now, the persisting NFR season is reportedly the last one for the bull riding champion before he takes on the PBR. Though he has competed at the Team Championships for the latter, he would go on to be a rookie for the World Finals. But new entry or not, Kimzey’s current performance would be a reminder for fellow riders of the excellence he carries.

Kimzey to hop on new plans

In 2017, the bull riding champion experienced his first PBR World Finals. Back then despite a breakthrough performance, Kimzey had remarked that he held no immediate plans of shifting to PBR. I am not ever going to rule it out,” Kimzey told PBR. “Right now, it is not in the immediate future, but I am not going to say never.”
