Rodeo legends like James Burton ‘J. B. ‘ Mauney, his love for the game, overpowers the constraints that are inherent in rodeo. A few days before, the 36-year-old veteran didn’t miss the moment to appreciate another mythical rodeo talent, Cody Webster. In his praise, Mauney pronounced, selfless. That denomination also garlanded Mauney’s character as he appeared in that garb last night. 

After calling it a day, JB Mauney recently appeared among the rodeo pals, but in a different mood, and this time to rain all over KY Hamilton’s parade. The night shared lots of dissimilar moments, but in a riveting, competitive fashion.

Dale Brisby didn’t miss the moment to capture when Tyler Taylor and Randy Quartieri inflicted a razor-sharp attack on the legendary duo, JB Mauney and KY Hamilton, in a pool game. The PBR-listed rodeos made no mistake against the big names to sweep the game. However, For KY Hamilton, self-realization came much later. In a welcoming way, the Queensland rodeo phenom captioned @jbmauneyxv and @kyjohnhamilton have the gold buckles but @randyquartieri and @tylerraytaylor cleaned house at pool in Bull Nettle tonight”. Eventually, KY Hamilton received his share of praise from Dale Brisby for being the new achiever of the Golden Belt buckle. In his IG post, Brisby framed each one of the rodeo pros present in the evening and said, “can’t keep a good man down, no matter how hard you try! WORLD CHAMP”.

Reportedly, the evening was the first instance KY Hamilton came into the synod of his rodeo comrades after winning the 2023 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. His grit allured the others as Hamilton received a broken rib and a concussion to win the title. However, his legendary partner in rodeo tryst had the buckle coming many times.

JB Mauney and his quest for gold buckles 

Among many accolades, JB Mauney was touted as the only rodeo listed by PBR to earn seven million USD. Even the rodeo baron topped the list of earning the mentioned sum in 2016, a long time before his retirement this year. But for him, the earnestness was different. “Money doesn’t bother me. Gold buckles is what I am after”, Mauney revealed. That secured him milestones like the most number of premier series wins in his career. Rather, an injury couldn’t subdue him as Mauney earned the path-breaking 32nd victory with a dismantled leg.

That may have inspired KY Hamilton to rise above the constraints and win the shields. However, the prized evening gifted a memory when this pair felt hapless away from their favorite sports.
