Professional Bull Riding has expanded multiple times since its inception and has spread to the international arena. The Professional Bull Riding Canada is evidence of it who have their own national championship. This shows the acceptability and depth of the bull riding game in the country. Talented cowboys from every corner of the country participate in the rodeo events to claim the prestigious national title.

The competition is tough and so is the undeterred determination of the athletes taking part in it. Recently, a professional and talented bull rider from Alberta has progressed in his quest for the national prime spot after a furious display of bull riding skills at a rodeo event.

Bull riding champion breaks into the top 10 league

Garrett Green, the 31-year-old professional bull rider is not a stranger in the bull riding arena.  According to PBR, he had shown an epic person at the PBR Canada Touring Pro Division’s Festival Western St. Tite and won the event. By winning he claimed another bird by breaking into the top ten league race for the claim of the national title. Green arrived at the vent after finishing at the eighth spot in the Interior Provincial Exhibition & Stampede.

But, this time he left that disappointment behind and gathered all his strength to pull the perfect ride at St. Tite. Green’s first in round 1 was Stutterin, a bull with a 72% buck off record, but he had a perfect ride on the bull scoring 81 points and entering the second round at fourth position on the leaderboard. In the second round, his ride was on Power Show, a bull with a record of 42 average scores. Green got his chance to claim the glory and seized it with a perfect eight-second ride scoring 85.5 points.

This win gave the Alberta bull rider 57 national points to lead his tally to 328 points. With it, he landed among the top ten contenders for the national title at the seventh position from the twelfth prior to the St.Tite rodeo. The national championship is merely less than two months away and the rodeo champion’s performance not only placed him among the top ten but also boosted his confidence for future rodeos.

Top 5 contenders in the National Bull Riding Championship title

The top five contenders for the national bull riding championship title according to current standing are Nick Tetz, Cody Coverchuck, Dakota Buttar, Coy Robins, and Aaron Roy. Nick Tetz is at the top with 592.5 points from 24 events. Cody Coverchuck who finished third with 23 points at St. Tite is on the second spot nationally.

He is 22.84 points behind the leader with 569.66 points from 38 events. Dakota Buttar is third with 456.5 points from 25 events and 136 points behind the leader. He finished fourth at St. Tite rodeo with 19 points. In fourth position is Coy Robins with 443.66 points from 18 events. In the fifth position is Aaron Roy with 404.5 points from 35 events and is 188 points behind the top position holder.

Garrett Green’s wonderful performance at the Festival Western St. Tite rodeo has pushed him into the top team contenders for the national title. With less than two months left for the nationals, he has a chance to close the gap with the top five and place himself in a better position.
