The introduction of the Professional Bull Riders Team Series changed the face of the bull riding sport. The sport which had been considered an individual sport was transformed into a team sport with a set number of players in each team. The move was successful, with an increase in followers of the individual teams.

After the successful first season, the second season of the league had tough competition among the teams to secure the top spot. The supporters of Oklahoma Freedom were jubilant with recent success at home turf after a win over the Carolina Cowboys in the match of the 2023 series. The Freedom Bull Riders have produced the best game of their season so far.

Oklahoma Freedom’s perfect bull riding

For Oklahoma Freedom, this was their second home stand at the Professional Bull Riders Camping World Team Series. They were up against a competitive Carolina Cowboys. According to PBR, the Freedoms showed their formidable performance at the game and went  3-for-5 for the first time this season. Their three riders, Elizmar Jeremias, Caden Bunchand Thiago Salgado, stayed on the beast for eight seconds and managed to get a perfect lead, adding to the total of 262.75 points. This beat their rivals by a margin of 175 points.

With this win, they improved to 9-5 this season and were placed in second place in the league behind leaders Austin Gamblers. Oklahoma Freedom is within reach of three games with the leaders who lost their game against the Arizona Ridge Riders by a difference of 90.25 points. This was the second loss of the season for the Austin Gamblers and by the same team. The Oklahoma Freedom are improving and after the win, their assistant coach Kody Lostroh said, “I couldn’t be prouder of these guys”. He acknowledged that they had a tough year with lots of ups and downs but they pulled a best performance in front of the home crowd.

How did it go at the bullriding game?

At the game, in the first attempt, neither of the teams could pull a score and both riders were bucked off by their respective bulls before eight seconds. In the second attempt, Daylon Swearingen for the Carolina Cowboys scored an 87.75-point ride on Dirty B. In their second attempt, Oklahoma Freedom also scored 85.75 points ridden by Elizmar Jeremias on Bread Basket.

The third attempt of both the teams went wasted, as both could hold for eight seconds. In the vital fourth attempt, the Carolina Cowboys continued their poor run without any score, and the Oklahoma Freedom rider Caden Bunch rode perfectly on Smooth Whiskey, scoring 89.25 points which gave his team an 87.25-point lead. In the last attempt, it was the same story for the Carolina Cowboys but the Oklahoma Freedom rider Thiago Salgado pulled a perfect ride on Doc Holiday and scored 87.75 points. Thus, giving his team a victory by 175 points.

The incredible performance by Oklahoma Freedom and the win pushed them to the second spot in the league ranking. This victory shall boost their confidence and belief to catch up with the leaders and claim the title.
