JB Mauney is a legendary name in the bull riding sport. The two-time Professional Bull Riding World Champion has set the standard for being the best in the game. His charisma, dedication, and skill of bull riding along with the daring of the most difficult bull gave him fame and love from bull riding enthusiasts.

JB Mauney entered the bull riding arena early in his life and his progress to the top was quite fast. He entered the PBR World Finals 2009 for the first time and by the year 2016, he was the league’s only rider to earn more than seven million dollars. The legend has retired from the game but his advice and wise thoughts are now heard even more. Recently, a clip got the attention of online surfers in which he spoke about the right attitude for bull riding.

JB Mauney got injured while taking part in the Lewiston Roundup last month. He was bucked off by the bull and landed on his head injuring his neck in the process.  The severity of the injury and post-operation forced the legend to cut short his career and retire from the game. It was a shock to his fans and the bull-riding world who believed in his comeback like he did earlier. JB Mauney may not be on the field but his thoughts and wisdom shall be there to guide the young bull riders. An Instagram post was shared in which he talks about the mindset for bull riding.

He said, “It’s always on your shoulders“. Mauney explained that bull riding is an individual sport and if you get bucked off “it’s all on you“. One cannot put the blame for his failure on anyone else or the bull, it is always oneself to blame. He gave an example of his early days when he didn’t do good and was bucked off by the bull. He would come home and try to fix what he had done wrong on the eighteen bulls he had day in and day out until he corrected his mistake. The clip got liked by thousands and garnered valuable comments.
