JB Mauney announced his retirement earlier this month after undergoing neck surgery. The injury that he inflicted while performing at a tournament required surgery. In his surgery a disc was removed and screws, plates, and rods were applied to fix the broken neck. His retirement decision was a shock for his fans who visited the arena only to watch their favorite rodeo take on the bucking bulls. On his retirement, the legend acknowledged that this was not the way he wanted to leave but the neck injury forced him to cut short his glorious career. The two-time PBR world champion is finally getting settled into his new life.

The bull-riding champ has shared an Instagram story, showing his latest work, which keeps him busy. In the story, Mauney is seen fixing the metal door at the barn accompanied by his little assistant, his son. Mauney has a neck brace fixed to his neck and takes the help of his kid who has a tool fixed to his waist.

It seems that he had started training the future bull rider about the chores of how to take care of a bull. While the kid spends quality time with his legendary father, he can also pick up all the traits his father holds and can hone the legendary skill his father possessed in the world and game of bull riding. Mauney before his injury had an illustrious career and with no doubt, his fans would be missing him in the arena.
