The adrenaline-fueled arena of the 2024 PBR Unleash The Beast is back promising riders a slice of the now-extended $250,000 prize scattered across the season. Fresh off the bull riding battleground in Jacksonville, Florida, 18-year-old John Crimber claimed his debut win in the UTB event.
However, the same was not the case when he took his powers to compete internationally last year when an injury kept him away from a few events. Now, detailing his injury the teen sensation shares the grim side of dazzling spotlight.
PBR teen champion John Crimber opens up about staying absent last season

In a candid chat with Flint Rasmussen on “According to Flint,” which was uploaded to YouTube, Crimber disclosed the difficulties he experienced after his hand injury. He said, “I love getting on bulls but when whenever I hurt my hand, I wasn’t able to do that so I wasn’t like feeling confident every weekend.” Curious Flint then asked more to which Climber said, “I hurt my hand in Canada right before the UTB season started and uh it was kind of bothering me.”
Taking the PBR world by storm with nine wins in his first 14 events since turning 18, John Crimber also entered PBR Canada last year, taking forward his father’s legacy after his premature exit. He scored 3-for-3 points at the PBR Canada Cup Series in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which secured him a spot in the 2023 PBR Canada National Finals in Edmonton, Alberta. He continued to deliver top performance in the PBR UTB series this year, earning a coveted honor.

Looking back at the 2024 PBR UTB feat
The sold-out Saturday night crowd witnessed John Crimber capture his first PBR UTB event with a 3-for-3 performance inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. With a phenomenal 90-point ride to cap off the walk-off victory, Crimber moved up to the No. 2 position in the competition for the 2024 PBR World Championship.

He also shortened the distance between himself and the top-ranked Cassio Dias to only 295 points with 148 Unleash The Beast points added post the golden finish. Crimber’s journey through injury adds a gripping depth to his rise to fame, reflecting the continued promise of his veteran father.
