Who says bull riding is only for those over 18? The sport can be enjoyed by people of all ages, keeping safety precautions in mind. A little bull rider from North Texas has been making waves this October. Only six years old, this little kid is one of the top bull riders in the world right now!

Brody Parsons is one of the youngest bull riders in the world. He attends kindergarten at the Higgins Elementary School, North Lamar, in Paris, which is located around 100 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas.

Brody Parsons takes his fame in his stride. The young lad believes bull riding isn’t a sport just for cowboys who are four or five times his age. “My first time riding bulls, I liked it and I did a flip on it,” said Brody, as reported by Fox 4 News. He has pursued other sports like baseball but is of the opinion that bull riding is relatively easier. “A little bit. Not a whole lot,” he elaborated in a most innocent manner sufficing for his age.

The KG student had most recently competed in a bull riding world championship over the second weekend of October 2023. He went on to finish the race in the Top 15! This feat was achieved at the 2023 World Championship Miniature Bull riding World Finals.

While one does often wonder what would be the reason behind the inspiration for people competing in adrenaline-inducing sports like bull riding, it would be surprising to see a kid doing the same. However, Parson didn’t simply venture into the arena. After he came across a movie, the Wonder Kid had to try out bull riding for himself. 

Brody Parsons’ inspiration for bull riding

It’s interesting to know what made Brody Parson take up such a challenging sport. His father Jess Parsons, Jr. revealed that pursuing bull riding was entirely Brody’s initiative. He said that his son was inspired to become a bull rider after he saw the film “8 Seconds”. The kid began practicing bull riding with sheep, and then with mechanical bulls, before testing his skills on real bulls.

Jess Parsons is proud of his son and thinks that the 6-year-old is rather brave for his age to get on the back of such a tough animal. On top of that, he competed in a world championship against other kids like him. To ensure Brody’s safety, his dad runs alongside him and guides him. In case something goes wrong, Jess is always ready to pull Brody off the bull.

We reckon fans of the sport are amazed to see the confidence of little Brody Parsons while on his ride. Looks like the already famous Brody is going to grow up to be a strapping youngster in bull riding!
