Going on a vacation is becoming mainstream it seems, as a teen picked up bull riding as his summer pastime. Last year when he barely made it to his teens he climbed on the back of a thousand-pound bull. This kid enjoys holding on to a flat-plaited rope while seated at the rear of a charging bull. Well, that sure sounds pretty complicated, but he has been honing his skills for over a year now. His passion is not just deadly dangerous but a rather pricey one too.

News of the 13-year-old recently made headlines for his upcoming weekend schedule which has a bull riding contest on the list. In a recent interview, the teen talked about picking a helmet over the cowboy hat, signaling his passion.

Thirteen-year-old’s passionate bull riding journey

The recent bull riding events at Ellicottville Rodeo will witness a young bull rider Conner Bridenbaker, compete over the weekends. When approached by WKBW TV, Conner shared some insights into his journey and details of upcoming races over the weekend. Having competed in many junior-level rides, the recent one is rather significant, taking place at one of the largest rodeos in the Northeastern USA.

Speaking on the commencement of the rides, he said that the first one was just a year prior in the summer, adding that the eight-second mark is the ultimate aim but he hasn’t quite gotten there yet. At Allegany-Limestone High School, Conner will begin ninth grade and claims that his friends think his sport is cool. Meanwhile, his family is supporting him wholeheartedly.

When asked about the choice of headgear, he says, “I’ve had my head stepped on and I have been hurt a few times.” Over the years many young bullfighters have opened up on the horrifying side of the sport. Despite the life-threatening fate, Connor seems full of confidence as he heads to his next big participation. While the young champ’s path has not been quite smooth, he shared some concerns which came his way.

Teen’s horse riding supported by family and locals

He shared his thoughts on the horse riding equipment being expensive, saying that the price of ropes costs $500. Although looking at his passion, many local individuals have fortunately offered to contribute. His parents are doing every bit to provide him with the necessities. His aunt Donna the strongest supporter says, “It’s really entertaining to watch.” She further adds that one has to “decide(whether) you are closing your eyes or are you watching.”

Currently, the teenage bull rider enjoys the thrill of the rodeo activity but he is surely aware of the most crucial thing for him to remember while bull riding. Repeating the lessons he said, “Look around once you hit the ground to see where the bull won’t go.” Connor will turn 14 in July, and since his tale gained attention, he has already inspired supporters to anticipate his big performance.
