The PBR world is all booked and busy with the New Year. While the Unleash the Beast Tour moves a step closer to the World Championship each season, Velocity Tour has announced its presence to lend support. Started in 2014, the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour (PWVT) stands to provide a wider ground for bull riding athletes to find their way up the industry.
A decade ago, the PWVT was started as a premier expansion tour for the PBR. Since then, the series is known to have become the fastest-growing tour of the sport, presenting bull riding aspirants and veterans from across the world. Today, as the 10th edition takes precedence, Velocity Tour is nothing short of a spectacle.
The stop fetches joint victors for round 1

On the 8th of January, the Velocity Tour made its way to the iconic National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado. Lasting from the 8th to the 10th, the stop was one of the two three-day events of the tour. As thousands filled the stadium for the opening night, the excitement and anticipation were all that filled the air. Amidst the big names of the industry, Randlett’s Josh Frost and Ivate’s Arisson Pereira took home a joint win.
Frost, a rider for Carolina Cowboys, on I’m Legit Too to put up an excellent 90-point ride. He was further followed by Pereira, who equalled the score by matching an 8-second stride with Renegade. The duo, with their points, became two of the 16 qualified rides for the night, earning 24 Velocity Global points. Moreover, they also fetched themselves a place in round 2, followed by a spot in the championships round. As the two victors make their way to the next round, the bull riding battle is going to be a tough one following additional spectacle in round 1.

A spectacle awaits bull riding fans
While Frost and Pereira earned big for the night, the following performances did not lose a spark. With an 87-point ride on Joy’s Bang Bang, Eric Domingos came in third, collecting 17 tour points. Cort McFadden atop Too Dirty for 86.5 fell next in line. Taking the 3rd and 4th spot, the two garnered themselves a place in round 2. Hunter Ball and Leonardo Lima were the other two with 86 points who ensured themselves a place on the 10th evening.

As per the Denver Chute-Out, following the first two evenings at NWSS, the final showdown will be led to Denver Coliseum. Following the initial round 2, the championship round will immediately take a course. Once Denver fetches its winner, Charleston Coliseum will await to host another evening of bull riding spectacle.
