The premier series of the Professional Bull Riders is here with its adrenaline-fuelling bull-riding events. The regular season conducts several legs throughout the year, which culminates at the PBR Unleash the Beast World Finals to celebrate the victor. 4o bull riding athletes go head-on with their bovine rivals to snatch the ultimate victory, which the 4-day-long Finals decide. But before anybody rounds off anything, the individual legs deserve some eyes.

En route to the final whistle, the athletes have started bringing their A-games aboard the fiercest bucking bulls. In front of an electric Friday night and thunderous cheers from the crowds, 18 riders appeared inside the BOK Center. However, among them, a young gun made headlines, therefore cementing his name in history.

Bull riding phenom emerges with a record score

Clay Guiton, the 18-year-old riding star who has kicked off his 2024 season strong with the 2024 season-launch PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour event win, reappeared. At the UTB leg in Tulsa, his score is sure to leave the experienced in threat. PBR’s official Instagram page posted, “The young-gun Clay Guiton put on a clinic away from his hand for his second 90-point ride in Tulsa!” In the championship round, record athletes finished with 90-point rides. But this rare phenomenon has only happened a few times if we take a ride to the annals of PBR history.

In 2019, the world witnessed eight 90-point rides at Chad Berger’s $125,000 team challenge in Bismark, Dakota. Going back to 2021, the St. Louis championship round recorded five 90-point rides. Before that, the 1999 PBR World Finals had recorded eight, the pioneer event to have seen such historical moments. The bull riding star Austin Richardson stands atop Tulsa after edging out rivals and delivering a top score. But let’s take a look at Guiton’s 1st career milestone achievement of 2024.

Guiton’s Lexington win

Locking the career-first Velocity Tour event win, the North Carolina native looked in the eye of his rivals with a perfect 3-for-3. When he started his act in Round 1 atop Cotton Mouth, he looked fierce enough to not give up easily. With an 86-point ride, he moved on to the second round.

Scoring 85 points, he defeated his bovine competitor Major Nelson to qualify for the final bout. But in the final round, Cash Money Bucking Bulls’ fiercest bull Repo, didn’t let the youngster achieve an easy win. The perfect pairing in the sense that nobody was willing to give up before the other. Matching the power of the brawny Repo, Guiton clinched his first win that night. With a long life ahead of him, fans expect more of the talented 18-year-old.
