Ever since making his debut in August last year, 18-year-old John Crimber has continued to stun the bull riding industry with his excellence. From 9 Challenger Series title wins to a Canadian debut victory, the youngster has conquered it all. However, one remained unticked in the PBR tagged, ‘Teenage Phenomenon’s’ circuit’s journey so far: the Unleash The Beast event win.

The PBR’s UTB is a dream ground for every bull riding enthusiast. And John Crimber was no different. Just as much as the 18-year-old awaited his triumph on the coveted stage, so did the rest of the industry greats who kept a keen focus on him. Now come the Jacksonville showcase, Crimber soared through both evenings to clinch the deserved crown.

John Crimber clinches the long-awaited crown

When UTB returned to Jacksonville for the first time in three years, it brought along ensured evenings of thrill, excitement, and entertainment. For the first evening on the 23rd, round 1 ended in a tie between rising bull riding talents, John Crimber, Cody Jesus, and Dalton Kasel. Crimber, in his first season of UTB, was one among the 20 riders to claim a qualified ride in round 1. The 18-year-old took on Flatliner for an 87-point ride alongside 2 others. Thus, going into 2nd day, it was anybody’s game, only for Crimber to snatch it away.

For round 2 and the champion’s round, the bull riding sensation put up a spectacle through and through. While the initial round recorded 87.75, John Crimber soared when he recorded a massive 90-point ride to close the evening and claim his title. The 18-year-old’s perfect 3-on-3 catapulted the youngster right to the top of the UTB world standing, making him a certain prospect for the UTB World Series New Rider Draft top pick. As the youngster continues to rise, his UTB debut proves not everything comes easy and not everything comes in rainbows.

Up from the fall and onwards

John Crimber made his Unleash the Beast debut in November 2023 at the event launching showcase. The excited youngster carried the hopes and scrutinizing eyes of thousands as he took on the fresh grounds. Under the watchful eyes and a hinted pressure, the 18-year-old experienced a buck off 3.71 seconds into round 1. According to his recent revelations, the medical team had speculated a concussion from the harshness of the fall. However, Crimber, who learned and dropped off the pressure going into round 2, came back a winner.

“First day I was trying not to lose. Second day, I was there to win,” he said, entering the arena. Lived by the words, did he. Going aboard Skywalker for round 2, the bull riding star put up an 89-point ride to win the round. Having his share of falls since then, Crimber proves resilience has its fruits to lend.
