As the ever-exhilarating stage of bull riding is heading towards getting its worthy contender, the realm of rodeo is witnessing some outstanding shows of promising talents. A show where riders have to stay on a bucking bull for eight seconds without getting thrown off.
One of these riders is Lorenzo Lopez, the rodeo champion who won the PBR Stockyards Showcase on Sunday, September 26, 2023, with a perfect outing. Lopez rode all three of his bulls, scoring 88.5, 89.5, and 90 points.
First career victory for the North Carolinian
Lopez rode all three of his bulls successfully and scored the highest points in each round. He secured his first career PBR victory and $10,000 in earnings. This victory helped him move to the 12th spot in the world standings, making him a contender for the world title. This was an impressive performance by the young rider and a great showcase of his skill and determination in the PBR Stockyards Showcase.
He was one of only eight riders who made the eight-second mark out of 41 competitors. He continued his dominance on Sunday afternoon when he faced Smooth Operator in Round 2. Smooth Operator is one of the most challenging bulls in the PBR, with a buck-off rate of 93.75%.Fritzlan’s Impressive Performance
Fritzlan, who is from Rifle, Colorado, also had a remarkable showing at the PBR Stockyards Showcase. Making his PBR debut in 2020, he quickly rose to fame by winning the PBR World Finals: Velocity Tour Championship and qualifying for the PBR World Finals: Unleash the Beast.
Fritzlan is also one of the youngest riders in the event; at only 21 years old, he has been riding bulls since he was four years old and has won several titles in high school and college rodeos.

At the PBR Stockyards Showcase, Fritzlan rode two out of his three bulls and scored 175 points. He rode Big City for 86 points in Round 1 and Lil Hank for 89 points in Round 2. He missed out on riding Bad Decisions in the championship round by less than a second. But still secured third place behind Lopez and Leme. He earned $4,000 in earnings and added 32 world points to his tally.
