As soon as the clock started ticking for welcoming the New Year, PBR buckled up for its Albany show. The premier bull riding series of the Professional Bull Riders, Unleash the Beast, had already alerted fans about the strong contender line-up. Like words like action, among the top 40 riders and bovine athletes, one such personality stood quietly, planning his win. As the ultimate showdown commenced, he emerged victorious.

Austin Richardson, the most decorated member of namesake Austin Gamblers, has proved his prowess by outclassing his brute opponent at the MVP Arena. The 23-year-old bull riding phenom found himself atop the animal, after a slippery gift-wrapping session. But little did he know that the bull rider’s governing body would crown the king, too.

Bull riding legend emerged victorious

As the spectators remained transfixed at the back-to-back electrifying displays, there came Richardson with his unstoppable form. Atop Martini Houdini, he gave a record-breaking round 1 performance to secure 86.5 points. To acknowledge his skill sets, PBR has posted a compilation video of Richardson on their Instagram handle. Paired with the caption “Austin Richardson, Albany, NY. The Austin Gambler captured his 3rd career event win!”, the clip stood as a testament to the man vs beast’s real thrill.

The athlete from the bovine kingdom tried his absolute best to throw Richardson off his back, but failed to. In round 2, atop Magic Trick, he secured the podium, securing 88 points. As per the bull riding technicalities and point system, if the riders can sit affixed on top of a bovine for eight seconds straight, they gain points. So, the Championship Round witnessed the 23-year-old in that form, atop Ivy League. The reel posted by PBR has an in-video text reading, “Pack a punch. New Leader. We have our champion”. Towards the beginning of 2023, one major win of his had made headlines.

World Finals round 2 winning moment

At the 2023 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) World Finals: Unleash The Beast, Austin Richardson had proven why he’s so sizeable. Performing at the marathon event, the Dallas homeboy secured an unmatchable score in round 2.

He had said ecstatically, “Being here to win the round in front of the hometown crowd puts icing on the cake,” said Richardson. “I’m trying my hardest, riding the rankest bulls, trying to make some money.” However, his road to success had it’s own challenges. The 23-year-old had a fractured sternum and a lung puncture three months prior.. But his determination to climb back up is commendable, more to surface in 2024.
