The realms of sports and entertainment almost often spill into each other when sportspersons splash into the entertainment world. Generating a wholesome moment while making an entertainment world splash, a world boxing champion from the US made an interesting revelation. The young boxer carries tremendous flair and is also vocal about representing the US at the 2024 Olympics.

Robby Rahim Gonzalez is an American boxing sensation. A recently uploaded social media post showcased the young boxer reiterating his thoughts but with an entertaining twist. Attending the 2023 BravoCon, he spilled the beans on his ultimate TV obsession.

Boxing champion ‘commits to’ his favorite TV show

Robby Gonzalez, competing in the light heavyweight category, won back-to-back gold medals in the World Boxing Championship in 2021 and 2022. He recently found himself at the 2023 iteration of the BravoCon in Las Vegas. The BravoCon is a three-day event celebrating the stars and shows of the Bravo Network. Indulging in a fun game at the event, the boxing champion nominated his binge-worthy TV show. Team USA and USA Boxing jointly uploaded the video of Gonzalez’s ‘Bravo’ entertainment selection. The post carried the caption, “If each of the @bravotv franchises were a college, who would you commit to? Olympic hopeful @rahimgonzales reps…#BravoCon.”

Gonzalez was presented with a choice between Summer House, Below Deck, and Married to Medicine. The boxing world champ chose to commit to Below Deck as his favorite TV obsession. Before choosing Below Deck as his favorite show, Gonzales also noted that he is aiming to make it to the Paris Olympics. He said that it has been a long journey for him and involved a lot of struggle. In fact, he mentioned that he had to go through several late nights and early mornings to make his mark.

Robby Gonzalez doesn’t seem to have any brakes when it comes to chasing after his dreams. The 2x boxing champ has already triumphed at the Strandja Cup in Bulgaria this year after his two consecutive world titles. The young and lively boxer recently appeared in the Olympics.com Podcast where he spoke about his training regime.

Answering a question about his ongoing preparation for the Paris Olympics, Gonzales said, “During training camp, I pretty much train all day. Sometimes, the coaches get mad at me. They say they want me to rest, but I just keep going and going.” The boxing world champ credited his father, Salem Rauf, for this ingrained trait he carries.

Gonzalez mentioned, “My father has taught me, ‘If you work hard now, life will be much easier. Greats like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant worked even when they were exhausted.’” Keeping this lesson and the greatness of these legends in mind, Gonzalez loses sight of everything except his goal. Will his training and determination allow him to hold the Olympic gold medal in Paris?
