However, during the 2018 US Congressional midterm elections, Arnold could not help but comment on how the “US politics SUCKS!” The former Republican Governor of California and Hollywood celebrity acknowledged he had “little interest” in politics these days and lamented that “nothing is getting done.” He also spoke about why Donald Trump came to power.
Arnold Schwarzenegger made his point clear
Despite being a politician himself, Arnie grew a little interested in politics. According to him, it wasn’t that great. Instead of politics, he was more interested in policy. Being an immigrant himself, the ace bodybuilder was well-versed in the challenges that an immigrant faced. Thus, he was more interested in a policy that could better their plight.
Speaking with CNN’s the Axe Files, he said, “I’m very little interested in politics because it sucks. I’m more interested in policy.” He elaborated further on how for 20 years, “they have promised to create immigration reform, and they haven’t.” During the interview, he expressed embarrassment about the nation’s failing infrastructure and lack of immigration policy reform.
Because the leaders in-elect were not doing anything substantial, there was public discontent. “People wanted someone from the outside. People were sick and tired of what was going on in Washington,” he said. According to him, the lack of infrastructure and opportunities prompted people to give Donald Trump a chance.

The Terminator actor assumed the office of California’s 38th governor. Schwarzenegger was California’s first non-native Governor since Irish-born Governor John G. Downey in 1862. During his tenure, he concentrated on lowering California’s greenhouse gas emissions.
He significantly contributed to the reform of worker’s compensation and educational systems. The ‘After-School Education and Safety Act’ was also endorsed by him. Arnold served as the Special Olympics International Weight Training Coach and the Global Ambassador.
