Arnold Schwarzenegger held on to his adventurous spirit to chase his goals. Nevertheless, as a parent in the affluent Schwarzenegger-Shriver household, there were strict rules the kids had to adhere to. Katherine, his firstborn, had little choice but to pursue a job in her teenage similar to kids her age.

Questions are plenty when meeting Schwarzenegger’s kids. The curious host in a 2019 interview asked Katherine what her first job was and at what age. Born to parents who practice a strong work ethic, Katherine showed no hesitation to share her low-profile job despite being a high net-worth individual.
“Just work there”
As parents, $450 million worth Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver shared a similar outlook on how to build a great future for their kids. To help the kids find their passion and become self-reliant, they were encouraged to take up jobs. They were “big on us, you know, working into our own thing,” Katherine shared in the interview.

The NYT Best-selling author continued about her maiden job experience. “I had my first job in a retail store when I was 15.” Besides, she explained the rationality behind choosing the job stating “..because I frequented to it so much, my mom was like ‘Just work there’.”
It is, however, surprising to know that despite the legacy and stardom; the kids were convinced to do odd jobs. However, one can’t dispute the parenting style considering the fruits it has borne. In their late 20s and early 30s now, each of their kids has carved a niche and is making their best effort to etch a name in their fields.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver married in 1986 and are parents of four children- two daughters and two sons. Katherine, their first child, authored her first self-help book at 21 and is also an animal rights advocate. Christina, the second girl child, graduated with a bachelor’s in English, served as an editor for three years, and has co-produced a Netflix documentary, “Take your pills.”
Patrick, the next-gen actor in the Schwarzenegger family, is making great strides in Hollywood. His best-known performances as Netflix’s Moxie (2021) and HBO Max’s The Staircase (2022). Christopher is the youngest in the lot who recently graduated from the University of Michigan. Joseph Baena, the child Schwarzenegger fathered with a housekeeper, is a real estate agent, an avid bodybuilder, and a budding actor.
