

The life behind the cameras and awards is not always bright. The image of Simone Biles holding her Olympic medals and smiling at the camera is embedded in every mind. It’s the winning moment that people get to see.
While a few are aware of Simone’s initial day struggles, many have no clue at all. The journey to fit in becomes even more complicated when the world has diverse judgments.

What’s supposed to be a safe place for athletics became a rather ‘unsafe’ place when Simone and her mates were ‘violated.’ When Simone voiced against the wrong, support poured in. Amongst the many who extended their support was bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife, Maria Shriver.
Maria speaks up for Simone
When Simone spoke up against the wrongs done by a former osteopathic physician Larry Nassar, Maria applauded her and others for speaking up. Getting emotional, the reputed journalist wrote on Twitter, “they already been through so much already.”

Adding further, she further highlighted how they opened up. Maria said, “(they have)spoken out on what they have been through.” She praised the young girls for not sighing away from counter-questioning the FBI agents for its alleged ‘mishandling’ of the “abuse allegations.” Quoting Simone’s words, she writes, “We have been failed, and we deserve answers.”

Continuing further, Maria acknowledges that they as a whole “must do better.” She also affirmed that they “can do better.” The Kennedy-clan descendant was astonished by the “bravery” that Simone and her teammates displayed by speaking up.
Simone is a tough sport. Having seen the hardest of hard times, she knows the value to speak up and take a stand. She always displays the ‘courage to soar high.’

A traumatic experience that Simone Biles spoke about later
When the ‘Karolyi Ranch scandal’ came out in the open, Simone gathered her strength to share her own “traumatic experience.” She was 12 years old when she began training at the Karolyi Ranch.

She shared her experience there and said the trainers used to “search their bags for food.” Things got really bad later on. They would even break into the cafeteria and “get food.” Growing up in such an environment, Simone thus realized the importance of speaking up.
