“No, Stunt People Do That”: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Ex-wife Maria Shriver Was Enraged after Knowing He Lied about Using a Stunt Double for an Explicit Scene in Conan the Barbarian

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been a dominant name in bodybuilding and movies. The ex-army man found worldwide recognition for his moves. With every film, Arnold stirred thunder at the box office. The seven-time Mr. Olympia champion, Arnold, leads an exceptional lifestyle. To date, his movies enjoy a massive fan following.

In the throwback video, Arnold was seen in a conversation with ‘The Tonight Show’ host, Jay Leno. During the conversation, Arnold shared his work-life experiences that often made his then-wife, Maria Shriver, angry.

Work demanded Arnold Schwarzenegger to do weird things 

Work commitments made Arnold Schwarzenegger do many out-of-the-box things. Pulling Arnold’s leg, Leno reminded him of how tough it must be for him to re-take after re-take in the movie ‘True Lies’ and watch Jamie Lee Curtis do a striptease. Joining him, Arnold said, “a really difficult job.”

Talking about one such incident, Arnold further iterated, “There was one scene in there, where I had to wrestle around naked with another woman that was naked” This time things did not go quite well for Arnold’s wife. Maria was angry; she could not help but ask Arnold, “Did you have to do this kind of scene?” during the shoot of ‘Conan the Barbarian.’

Reassuring his wife, the action hero said, “No, stunt people do that.” Clarifying further, he goes on to add that they have to stand there while the stunt people do all the things.

Did stunt man do it for Arnold?

Later, when Maria saw the film and discovered it wasn’t true, she was beyond any reconciliation. She couldn’t help but glare at her husband and ask him, “Did you enjoy this?” Realizing his mistake, Arnold quickly reassured his wife and said, “hated every hour of it.” Listening to the bodybuilding legend’s fun story, everyone burst out laughing. 

It seems like Arnold did not have it easy with Maria at that time. But in the acting department, sometimes the script requirements are such that the actor has to make tough decisions, which might not be seen as morally correct.

Arnold and Maria were married for 25 years and saw many ups and downs in their relationship. However, in 2011 they finally decided to walk different ways. The couple parted ways when Arnold’s affair with his household help took the tabloid. When reports came that Arnold fathered a child outside the wedlock, things became more difficult for Maria.
