IFBB Pro Zack Khan garnered a lot of hype even before turning pro in 2009. However, he only competed from 2013 to 2015 before a massive injury derailed his bodybuilding career. Recently the 280 lbs bodybuilding beast spoke about the outcome of the 2022 Mr. Olympia. ZKK also talked about drug use in professional bodybuilding and revealed how bodybuilders constantly risk their health for the sport.

Zack “King” Khan appeared on Season 5, episode 16 of the Muscular Development Global Muscle show with host Giles “Tiger” Thomas. During their conversation, the pair spoke about everything from Big Ramy’s 5th-place finish at last year’s Mr. Olympia to how bodybuilding is unhealthy.

According to ZKK most bodybuilders skip the Arnold Classic because of the mental toll it takes to prep for two of the most prestigious shows in bodybuilding back-to-back. “A lot of them not even bothered about the drug side of it,” said Khan. According to him, bodybuilders know bodybuilding is “not a healthy sport.”

“It’s never gonna be healthy. You can do it a little bit healthier. Let’s be honest and don’t fool ourselves,” said the bodybuilding beast. Former bodybuilder and host of the show Giles Thomas recalled how sometimes even bodybuilders and coaches fool themselves. He didn’t disclose the name but recounted another individual’s statement about a bodybuilder named Alex.

“This is Alex. He hasn’t done any gear for two weeks… his receptors are clear. He’s ready to go.” said Giles. Khan and Giles laughed as the host recalled how he felt. “I was like, two freaking weeks? Like, are you kidding me?” said Thomas. As the Arnold Classic 2023 approaches, Zack ”King” Khan’s opinion is food for thought for bodybuilding fans.

Bodybuilding and health: Can we find a balance?

Some of the top bodybuilders in the world have prioritized health over fame. Reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead is among those bodybuilders. Despite being at the peak of his career, the four-time Classic Physique champion opened up about drug use in 2022.
