A bodybuilder’s life is tough. With all the heavy cardio sessions and the humongous diet plan sticking to the daily goals is tricky. Singapore’s ace bodybuilder Amanda Lee gained attention in July when she won the prestigious NPC Worldwide British Bodybuilding Championships. The win guarantees her to compete at the highest level in other bodybuilding competitions.

But was winning the competition easy? Did just the daily workout routine help her? How important was her diet? As Amanda says, “it was not easy.” Sharing her struggles, Amanda opens up!

The choices were not easy for Amanda

The choices that Amanda made for herself required a lot of struggle. The journey, as she quotes, was “entirely self-funded.” Thus, every day was about making the right choice. Elaborating further, she says, “you have to pick and choose what you want to spend on.”

The IFBB title winner says one needs to choose what they are willing to spend the amount on. Narrating further, she also talks about the importance of diet. She adds that the “strict diet” the bodybuilders follow during prep is difficult. While the diet is based on the person’s body type and goals, adhering to it on a daily basis is no kid’s play.

She adds, “you’re paying a lot of money to compete, to reach that goal of yours.” Thus, according to her, if someone “were to eat that to sabotage,” then it is not worth all the hard work. Raising a key question, she asks, “you want to sabotage yourself like that?”:” Amanda clarifies that since they are okay with “competing”, that is why they are fine “with not eating.”

Hard work pays off for Amanda Lee 

Leaving no stone unturned, Amanda Lee finally achieved her dreams. Bodybuilding is not a conventional sport, especially for girls. However, paying no heed to what people say, Amanda chased her “unorthodox dreams” with full faith and conviction, giving her best. The proud bodybuilder took to Instagram to express her happiness. In a long post, she wrote:

Reaching where she is now required a lot of sacrifices. Be it waking early in the morning or the tough cardio sessions, there were times when she felt dizzy, but she kept going no matter what! From almost giving up to fighting until the end, Amanda’s journey was arduous!
