“You Never Told Me”: Arnold Schwarzenegger Was Shocked to Hear Linda Hamilton’s Unexpected Admission on Air in 2019

Arnold Schwarzenegger remains one of the most famous bodybuilders to date. It’s not just his exceptional physique that earns credits, but also his acting skills that often get praised. Amongst the many reel roles that Arnold played, his role in Terminator remains iconic to date. A cult-classic movie that established Arnold among the Hollywood elite, enjoys a massive fan following.

However, it’s not just Arnold whom the fans remember. He may have been the hero, but the lead actress, who played Sarah Connor, remains equally popular. Their on-screen chemistry was something that left the fans spellbound at the time. The film did not just shatter box-office records but also shot the stars to immense popularity.

When talking about Sarah Connor AKA Linda Hamilton, the Terminator actress revealed in 2019 that she was hesitant to work with Arnold.

Even Arnold Schwarzenegger was left in disbelief 

As Arnold and Linda Hamilton sat down for ‘The Graham Norton Show in 2019, the latter had many shocking revelations. Talking about working in movies together. Linda confessed that initially, she was reluctant to take up the role. By the said time, Arnold had already established himself as the ‘Austrian Oak.’  When the show host Graham Norton enquired her, “You wanted to act with him?”

She straight away said, “Oh no, not at all!” She had reservations, though she revealed, “My people were excited.” Before saying a yes for an answer, she “actually went to set to see him.” Pretty shocked by the revealings of Linda, Arnold could not help but comment, “You never told me that story.”

To this, Linda burst out laughing and said, “But I have told everybody else.” Trying to comprehend what Linda said, Arnold again counter-questioned her. He asked, “So you were hesitating to work with me?” As Linda nodded a yes for an answer, the Terminator star grasped in disbelief and said, “Did you believe that?”

Arnold-Linda and their tale of friendship

Arnold first met Linda for the first time on the set of James Cameron’s movie the Terminator. As the film created history, the pair reprised their role for the sequel. Since then, two have gotten together for Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator Genisys.

Though Linda Hamilton disappeared from the screen after Judgement Day, she kept in touch with her dear friend Arnold. Thirty-five years after working for the first time, the two again reunited to direct the sequel to Judgement Day in Terminator: Dark Fate in 2019. During San Diego Comic-Con, she revealed the “movie has actually rekindled the friendship.” The two continue to remain good friends.
