With as many as 25 world records in powerlifting, Dr. Stefi Cohen is constantly breaking barriers and reaching new heights. She also became the first woman to deadlift 4.4 times her own body weight (120 lbs), when she pulled 545 lbs at the 2019 Arnold Classic. However, despite pushing boundaries and setting new goals for women in fitness, she is yet to traverse the centuries-old prejudices that some men still have. Most recently, she left a brute-yet-funny message for those men.

Dr. Stefi Cohen took to her Instagram recently to post her latest workout video. In it, she is doing a goblet squat with a heavy-weight dumbbell and parallelly shares a message for men who have a particular demand.

“When he says ‘he’s not into girls who lift'”, read the caption that floated over her workout video on Instagram. Dr. Cohen just finished one squat and was smiling at the camera when the edited clip shifted to a man answering the question, albeit in a hilarious manner. The man just said, “OK! It’s Fair enough. But what are you into? Transformers, Pokemon, you f***ing child”, with a tone of mockery.

The clip, a short one, was an excellent example of beautiful editing where it achieved many things. Dr. Cohen presumably shut out her male critics who hold such belief by answering that question. She created great content on social media that is hilarious and more importantly raised an important topic that most female bodybuilders can relate to.

Existing stereotypes about female beauty standards are often responsible for false assumptions. Dr. Cohen, and many like her, are thankfully breaking such stereotypical thinking and creating a more wholesome, accepting environment for everyone. That’s why she, along with bodybuilder Hayden Bowe, runs the ‘Hybrid Performance Method’ for everyone to achieve their fitness goals and build strength.
