

An emerging powerlifting prodigy, Jordan Mica, creates three new state records at just the age of 10. The little powerlifter lifted a total of 446.4 pounds at the 2023 USAPL Third Street Barbell Open, which was held on 4 and 5 February in California. More so, his performance at the powerlifting meet rightly places him as the powerlifting star.

The young Mica is a passionate powerlifter who has many records and titles to his name. He first created headlines in 2021 at his first USAPL powerlifting meet where he performed 121.25 lbs squats, shocking everyone being a 9-year-old. Yet again, the little champion has set three new records like a pro!

Firstly, the 51.3 kilograms Jordan was the only powerlifting in his division. So he decided to make the most of the situation and break every state record prevailing. Moreover, since he was in the raw division, he could only use a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps.

Talking about his performance, Jordan performed to set Youth 2 (10-12 Years Old) USAPL California State Records in the squat, deadlift, and total events. The powerlifter managed to set two new records in squat and deadlift and equaled the state record in the bench press category. Amongst the nine attempts, Jordan shone in all of them except for missing one.

At first, Mica performed in the squat category. After lifting 137.8 and 154.3 pounds, he created a new record by lifting 170.9 pounds in the third round. Then he served in the bench press category. In this, he equaled his pre-existing record in this category, which was 82.7 pounds. In its third round, he was unsuccessful in lifting 88.2 lbs. Finally, in the deadlift category, he lifted 154.3 and 176.4 pounds. He created a new record in the third round by lifting 192.9 pounds.

So, in total, the young powerlifter lifted a total of 446.4 pounds to create a proud record at the 2023 USAPL Third Street Barbell Open.

Jordan Mica once lifted a 185-pound deadlift beltless
10-year-old Jordan Mica has consistently performed like a champion. Recently, before the USAPL, Jordan’s parent/manager shared a video of him lifting 185 pounds deadlift without a belt. Well, many adult powerlifters use belts to avoid injury performing deadlifts. But this little boy performed with absolute ease and with no signs of struggle.
