The bodybuilding champion, Ronnie Coleman has graced the reverent stage of Mr. Olympia and trounced its title for 8 consecutive years. During his prime, he faced off against many legendary bodybuilders who with their meticulous physiques gave Ronnie tough competition. Whether it is the Sultan of Symmetry, Flex Wheeler, or the German bodybuilding prodigy, Gunter Schlierkamp, Coleman has finished first against every big name in the bodybuilding world for the span of 8 years. Interestingly, before bagging his 7th Mr. Olympia title, Coleman accepted the German bodybuilder, Markus Ruhl’s ultimate showdown challenge and made rather an interesting show of abs and muscles.

In 2004, the King was crowned with his 7th Mr. Olympia title, while Markus bagged the 6th position at the event. And, now in a resurfaced video, both bodybuilders were seen in a showdown dated back to Mr. Olympia 2004.

Ronnie Coleman vs Markus Ruhl in Mr. Olympia 2004

In an unearthed video, the WWE legend, Triple H was refereeing in the challenge round of Mr. Olympia 2004. Moreover, the wrestler was seen asking Ruhl about the challenges he wants to impose on his competitors. The German bodybuilder started with the “Front lat Spread”, followed by “side chest”.

Forthwith Ruhl’s Front lat and side chest pose, the King came onto the stage. And, Triple H again asked Markus about his next showdown challenge that he wanted to perform alongside Ronnie. On this, the German said, “most muscular”. Following the task, both bodybuilders together posed for the lens with their robust statures.

However, on his turn, Coleman imposed a “Front lat” pose onto his German competitor. And again, both of them succinctly performed the showdown, posing their front muscular persona.

What made Ronnie stand out in 2004 Mr. Olympia?

Before Mr. Olympia 2004, Ronnie already had 6 Mr. Olympia titles in his bag. However, in the 2004’s competition, Coleman made his body more meticulous and aesthetic. As per Nick’s strength and power Youtube channel, Ronnie weighed around 296lb with a physical stature of 5 ft 11 in. Whereas, the masked monster, Markus Ruhl weighed 16 units lighter than Coleman, with a stature of 5 ft 10 in.

Hence, Coleman took the stature brownie points, as he was taller than Ruhl. On the other hand, Ronnie’s weight also helped him in dominating the stage. Therefore, the King bagged the momentous victory because of his flawless and scintillating persona. And, with his winning drive, he went on to claim the 2005 Mr. Olympia title and became the 8x champion.
