Arnold Schwarzenegger was grateful for a legend’s support
Arnold Schwarzenegger served as the Governor of California from 2003 to 2011. His decision to compete in the elections came as a shock to everyone, as it came at a point, when his film career was at its peak. Nonetheless, he made a lot of instrumental changes during his term as the governor of California. Schwarzenegger faced backlash for some of his initiatives from powerful state unions, but he faced them bravely.

Throughout his incredible journey, Arnold received support from a lot of people. He never shied away from admitting and acknowledging the efforts of people who helped him succeed in life. Arnold shared one such incident on his Instagram with Dwayne Johnson. Sharing a throwback post he captioned, “#tbt to this guy coming to visit the State Capitol when I was Governor and taking over as national spokesman for @afterschoolallstars so I could focus on governing. You’re a champion, I’m grateful for your friendship and I’m so proud of your success, @therock. But I’m even more proud of you for all you do to give back.”
He thanked the $800 million Hollywood star for taking over his organization ‘afterschoolallstars’ which provides free, comprehensive after-school programs for youth across the US during his governance. It helped Arnold to focus on his duties as the governor of California.
Arnold’s political career
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s political career began in 2003, after he defeated the then-governor, Gray Davis. He won the elections with a 55.4% yes vote. The legendary bodybuilder was successful in implementing various policies which were helpful for the public. However, some of his reforms were controversial and drew criticism from other state unions. During his term as the governor, Arnold ordered special elections to pass some of his reforms. However, the people ultimately rejected all his proposals. He completed his second term as the governor in 2011.

Arnold could not contest for a third term due to the term limits imposed by the Constitution of California. The legendary bodybuilder expressed his desire to compete in the 2016 Presidential elections. However, his wish could not go through, as he was not born in the United States. Furthermore, he announced on his Twitter account that he would not be voting for Donald Trump in the elections.
