Wrestling and bodybuilding are similar sports. Both are about showcasing strength and muscularity. All wrestlers engage in bodybuilding to an extent. While both might be engaged with same workout routines, the points of focus are quite different. Wrestlers workout to build strength while bodybuilders build mass and size. But recently, the pro wrestler Jordynne Grace bridged the gap between wrestling and bodybuilding.
Impact Wrestling legend Grace has decided that she is going to take up a new challenge—bodybuilding. The two-time Knockouts division champion has undergone a full body transformation to prepare herself for the Tri-City Classic bodybuilding championship event. While her transformation has not been fully accepted by everyone, she claimed that the naysayers only give her more strength.

Sports Illustrated covered the story of Grace switching from wrestling to bodybuilding. She told Sports Illustrated, “I want to be the first pro wrestler to ever go to The Arnold. That’s my dream.” And the wrestling superstar has already started running towards this dream at a full sprint. She has worked hard and fast for a body that will leave people astonished. “I feel like the same person, then I look in the mirror and say, ‘Whoa,'” says Grace.

She was also surprised by the changes in her body, and she added, “The weight loss has become noticeable in my face, and I never thought I’d have a six-pack in my life. It’s been insane to see my body change.” While Jordynna Grace has competed in powerlifting, bodybuilding is a completely new arena for her, but one she is thrilled about. She was of the opinion, “Bodybuilding doesn’t go with pro wrestling. I feel so weak. You’re putting your body through extremely intense stress. It leaves you exhausted.” Due to her motivated disposition, Jordynne Grace has been a force of nature in the world of Impact Wrestling.

She stood out in All In battle royale in 2018. But this motivation has also been an obstacle in her seamlessly making the change from wrestling to bodybuilding. Even when she was training to become a bodybuilder, she competed in matches earlier this month on an international tour in Australia. She then also wrestled for AAA in Mexico. The switch has not come without problems, but she has fully embraced all challenges.

Jordynne Grace revealed that her transformation sparked some controversy among the masses, and there has been some lash back from people on social media. Grace revealed, “I’ve gotten relentless hate about the way I look on social media. I’ve heard I was too big or that I was too short—now I hear that I’m too muscular and I look like a man. I am here to prove that you can do whatever you want to, especially if you use those negative comments as fuel.”
