Hailing from the historical dynasty of Von Erich wrestlers, Kevin Ross Adkisson is a former pro wrestler who goes by his ring alias, Kevin Von Erich. He is especially known for his WWE superstar father, Fritz Von Erich’s legacy. Unfortunately, fate took a drastic turn and Kevin exists as the last of the Von Erichs. His father’s iconic nickname, The Iron Claw served as the inspiration for the 2023 Hollywood movie starring Zac Efron.

Thus, in a 2022 interview with TMZ, Kevin once opened up about the mind-blowing transformation of the actor portraying The Iron Claw to highlight the real purpose of his wrestling career. Let’s find out what he said. 

Kevin Von Erich stunned by Zac Efron’s transformation

As the sources revealed, the 65-year-old athlete acclaimed Efron for his passionate efforts in the movie. He said, “I saw the picture of the guy, he looked great man, I don’t think I ever looked that good so I think they’re going to do great.” However, he also clarified his intention of working out. “I was never a bodybuilder, you know, I just wanted to lift so that I could be better at what I did,” he added.

Furthermore, Kevin shared insights from his life emphasizing the importance of staying in shape and being strong to one’s full capacity. “It’s always best to be as strong as you can, stay in top condition, we all did that.” the 6’2” wrestler revealed.

The WWE icon also nuanced a comparison of the High School Musical star’s before and after body modification and commended him for his grand work. “So, the picture they’d showed me at first and the picture I saw the other day, he must really be working hard,” Kevin explained. Moreover, he added that he’s pretty thrilled about the movie and is looking forward to watching it with his family. 

Who are the Von Erichs? 

American WWE legend, Fritz Von Erich along with his five wrestler sons—David, Kerry, Mike, Chris, and Kevin—made up the iconic Von Erich clan. Fritz vaulted to the top of the wrestling industry in the 1960s to 70s. He exhibited a dominating presence in the ring, hence, nicknamed The Iron Claw.

The legend also introduced a brand new wrestling promotion, the World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) in Dallas. It went on to become one of the most esteemed promotions in the wrestling world. Additionally, he also got the stunning Undertaker his very first pro wrestling match in the championship because of a peculiar reason. All the five brothers were superiorly competitive, although, Kerry outshined all of them in 1984 by winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
