Frank Zane, the Godfather of Symmetry, won the Mr. Olympia title three times consecutively. Frank Zane is also one of the few who won against Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Mr. Universe 1965.

In an interview, Frank Zane once talked about his book that captures his workout journey. Zane is known for having one of the most aesthetically pleasing bodies of all time. His well-toned body is one of the reasons he won against the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Frank Zane talks about his bodybuilding book

In 2019, Bodybuilding.com asked Frank if there was something he would have done differently in his past. Replying to the same, Zane claimed even if he had something in mind, that would not have made a difference. He then talked about his book, Frank Zane: Mind, Body, Spirit, The Personal Training Diaries.

Frank said that the 180 exercises in his book represent the culmination of 40 years of training. He asserted that his book differs from previous books on bodybuilding and includes exercises in a progression. The 80-year-old legend trained with many sets, weights, and reps, and his book details everything.

According to Zane, the book has some of his most challenging exercises. He added that it is impossible if someone claims to follow all his workouts and have a body like Frank in a year. Frank said, “I think they would probably kill a normal person if they were to follow them all like that.”

Zane advises fans on what not to do while training

Zane gained knowledge about bodybuilding from his own experiences as well as from talking to and observing other bodybuilders. He claimed that taking training under someone’s wing was one of the things he had never done.

Zane disclosed that he worked out with Arnold Schwarzenegger for a while. They began their journey as rivals, but they were also close friends. They used to practice together and share knowledge. Frank claimed that none of the bodybuilders he ever trained with had gurus.
