The name Arnold Schwarzenegger needs no introduction. From the bodybuilding world, to that of movies and politics, he excelled in whichever field he put his heart into. Naturally, his success caught the attention of the public and his popularity soared through the roof. Such was the case of his popularity in the late 1900s that it helped some brands he worked with, establish themselves in the market. One such brand was a Swiss Watch brand, Audemars Piguet. Now, nearly 3 decades later, on the 30th anniversary of their collaboration, the brand has honored Schwarzenegger’s legacy.

Back in the day, Arnold Schwarzenegger took part in the designing of the limited edition series, “End of Days” worth $83,263. Recently, as a gesture to pay homage to the successful edition, the brand has relaunched the series but with a slight twist.

The Royal Oak Offshore “End of Days”, co-designed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, was released in 1999. The name of the series was derived from a movie Schwarzenegger had starred in. Being the first one of its kind, the collaboration set the trend for limited edition series, and also launched AP’s Kevlar straps.

Along with the “End of Day” collection, Arnold Schwarzenegger has co-designed six more Royal Oak Offshore models with the brand. AP’s new timepiece, named Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph, will honor this legacy of the Austrian Oak. Talking about the collaboration AP’s CEO wrote on their website, “The collaboration with Arnold Schwarzenegger for the Royal Oak Offshore End of Days in 1999 helped to put the collection on the map, especially in the street culture scene.”

The 43 mm watch will be similar to its original design and will come in a black ceramic case. It is accented by a mega tapestries dial with white-gold hour markers on the bezel. The sapphire crystals protect the tachymeter of the chronograph. Furthermore, the hands are coated in black nickel with yellow luminescence.

This limited edition series has only 500 pieces available at the store. Though similar to the original version in terms of its look, different materials will be used for the new version. Therefore, the mixture of ceramic and titanium will in turn make the timepiece weigh less, rounding off to around 103 grams. Unlike the original version, this new one doesn’t have the Kevlar strap. However, the brand provides two alternative calfskin options. One can either go with yellow straps with black stitchings or vice versa.
