The bodybuilding fraternity recognizes Flex wheeler as one of the most prominent bodybuilders of all time. With his meticulous physique and muscular prowess, Wheeler indeed made many heads turn his way during his prime. Now, it’s been two decades since the icon left the bodybuilding arena, but he knows how to make a splash among his fans. This time, Wheeler’s tutelage to the UFC champion caused a stir on social media.
Light Heavyweight fighter and mixed martial artist, William Knight, never shies away from taking the center of the spotlight with his top-notch fighting flair. The 206 lbs fighter made it to headlines with his aggressive and powerful punches at the UFC Vegas 69. However, way before the fight between Knight and Marcin Prachnio began, Knight’s weight transformation received plaudits from many. Interestingly, The UFC champion toned his physique under the mentorship of Flex Wheeler.

The 57-year-old bodybuilder’s fascination for combat sports dates way back to when he was just a teen. Growing up, while his interest got piqued by bodybuilding, he kept his passion for martial arts alive. Therefore, after retiring from bodybuilding, Wheeler kept pursuing his love for martial arts. Interestingly, the Sultan of Symmetry trained the mixed martial arts champion William Knight in his weight transformation journey.
A couple of days back, the bodybuilder took to his Instagram handle to share a picture of Knight. In the post, the UFC fighter can be seen posing for the lens from this year’s UFC podium. In the caption, Wheeler penned, “It’s been an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows”.

Expressing his elation for Knight’s transformation, the bodybuilder wrote, “It was an eye-opening experience watching @ssj_nightmare and the other fighters go through their weight cut”. The Sultan of Symmetry asserted, “It’s been an incredible journey to be a part of watching him come from 230+ pounds down to 206″.
He further mentioned the difficulties that UFC fighters go through “to prepare for an event of this magnitude”. “I truly have a more profound respect for these men and women,” added the 57-year-old. Interestingly, it was Bruce Lee, who inspired Wheeler to find his solace in martial arts.
Wheeler learned to fight from Enter the Dragon
The bodybuilder once credited his martial arts prowess to none other than Bruce Lee. After watching the 1973 cult classic, Enter the Dragon, Wheeler fell in love with the art of fighting. He once stated, “Yeah he pretty much saved my life you know”. However, the bodybuilder later chose bodybuilding as his forte and went on to reign over the Arnold Classic championship four times.

While the legend underwent a series of medical issues that even resulted in an amputated leg, he never gave up on his quest to remain fit and healthy. Now, he trains various fitness enthusiasts in their journey towards robustness. The mixed martial arts champion, William Knight is no exception.
