“Why Are We in This Dump?”: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Acceptance of Donald Trump’s Request Irked His Ex-Wife Maria Shriver Once

Switching careers frequently might not work out for many, but Arnold Schwarzenegger is an exception on all fronts. Starting from bodybuilding to acting to politics, the legend had expertise in all. Arnold started from scratch and is now one of the most inspirational figures on the planet. But along with success comes a pile of difficulties and disturbances. Arnold’s constant feud with Ex-US Prez Trump is one of those. 

Notably, their enmity did not exist from the beginning. Furthermore, the ‘Austrian-Oak’ once pissed her ex-wife Maria to keep Trump’s request. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a friendly bond with Donald Trump 

Imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger and Donald Trump in one room without any conflict. Sounds surreal, right? Well, no matter how their relationship is currently, the root comes from the 2000s. They have known each other for years, and over time, the friction between them grew. 

Arnold and Trump had a friendly association back in the time. During the 2004 Republican National Convention held in New York, an incident shared by the actor’s then-aide tells us the same. 

Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the party with his ex-wife, Maria. They were supposed to stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel but ended up pausing at Trump’s place after accepting his appeal. Maria, on the other hand, did not like the place and was dissatisfied with her then-husband’s decision. 

She even asked the aides, “Why are we in this dump?” In reply to her inquiry, they told her to ask Arnold about the matter.

Nevertheless, things between the two have taken a complete U-turn now. If one says yes, the other is bound to say no. Their views, thoughts, and ways are either opposite or conflicting, but never in alignment. 

Arnold and Trump joking around was a thing?

The same aide also disclosed another story about the two opponents. This time, it was at a fundraiser held by the GOP/Republican Party. 

The aide shared a sarcastic banter between the two big names. It was kind of an inside joke that the two enjoyed at that moment. 

“Trump comes in and Arnold just breaks his balls, and starts ripping him for his hair,” revealed the aide. “Donald just looks at him, and Arnold says, ‘Tell me the truth. When it was sopping wet in the shower this morning, it fell all the way to the floor?’”

Nonetheless, time never stops for anyone, not even for Arnold and Trump. With time, the distance, bitterness between them grew. Now it’s almost impossible to even think of the two being friends back in the 2000s.
