The bodybuilding sport has had a long history of controversial decisions. Even the grandest stage of Mr Olympia has also seen many contested decisions and the discussion always revolves around the judgment process in such competitions. A similar conversation happened between former IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Milos Sarcev and the former Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler on a similar issue. The conversation has been making headlines as the two bodybuilders contradicted on a point.

Time and again Milos has been vocal about the judging process in the bodybuilding contests. The bodybuilding coach was giving a unique take on posing during competitions when Cutler asked him tough questions.

Sarcev was hosting a podcast for his YouTube channel with the former Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler and manager Matt on the 2007 Olympia controversy. While the discussion shifted on the judgment, Sarcev put an unconventional view on how the posing should be judged during the competition. The former Mr. Universe felt that the main aim of any athlete is to showcase his physique and not the number of poses. He believed that the judges should give points to bodybuilders for their bodies and not for the number of poses.

“Judge is supposed to judge the physique and if it is only 5 poses and he looks magnificent and they think that this is enough to convince them then it’s okay,” he said on the podcast. The former Mr. Olympia asked Milos who is to be blamed for the decision of putting more emphasis on the poses. “So who are you faulting, the organizations’ decision or how the judges are judging it”, Cutler asked.

Milos explained his stance with the rhetorical question and highlighted the open-ended point system of bodybuilding by comparing it with other sports. He gave examples of football and basketball to explain how certain points are allocated to performing particular actions while this system is absent in bodybuilding. The former Olympian replied that those games are regulated by referees. However, this wasn’t the first time when Milos challenged the popular notions of bodybuilding.

The former Mr. Universe is currently a renowned coach who prepares aspiring bodybuilders for the new-age bodybuilding contest. However, Sarcev has challenged many old-school techniques of preparation and training. A few weeks back Sarcev hosted a Q&A session and gave training advice that may sound difficult to many bodybuilders.

While the popular notions emphasize more on walking out once a day to maintain a balance, Sarcev adopted an unconventional approach during his time. The former Bodybuilder revealed that he used to work out twice a day during the training period. He further added that he accepted “No rules” as the only rule during his prime.
