Jay Cutler feels ‘no explanation for decisions’

Speaking about the removal of divisions, Jay Cutler felt that the organizers did not offer any explanation for their actions. He mentioned how the category ‘Classic Physique’ got popular and knocked out other categories in terms of returns. Consequently, a division lives and thrives at the cost of the popularity of another.

The former Mr. Olympia recalled how he didn’t consider Classic Physique to be a promising category. He mentioned Mr. Olympia Classic 2016, Danny Hester, and talked about how back then, the category involved no rivalries. The star expressed, “The battles are what’s going to build the popularity.” And while his views have now changed, he still remembers talking about the debate in an interview. Cutler then strongly believed that “it’s not as exciting as bodybuilding.”

Nevertheless, opinions have changed. the superstar bodybuilder now believes that with the onset of new rivalries, the category may soon grow more popular than it is now. He mentioned how stars like Chris Bumstead, Terrence Ruffin, and Breon Ansley may take the category to new heights. However, the legend still maintains that the decision has definitely caused some confusion among the fans.

While some athletes have been voicing their disagreement on the decision, the championship will definitely be a sight to behold nonetheless. Will it emerge as successful or not? Only time will tell!
