No, he is no Coleman hater. Stan, in fact, is Coleman’s admirer, but he has some genuine reasons to counter with when aspiring bodybuilders come to him in an attempt to copy them!

Stan shares his perspective

In the recent Mike O’Hearn Show, IFBB professional bodybuilder and powerlifter Stan Efferding states the reason why one “probably shouldn’t train like Ronnie Coleman.” Being an Australian fitness celebrity and personal trainer, Stan is well-versed in the human body and muscles. Having trained Ed Coan, Hafþór Björnsson, Becca Voigt, and others, he holds a no-nonsense attitude toward those who justify stupid bodybuilding mistakes.

His answer stands direct for those who tend to justify their bodybuilding mistakes by stating that Ronnie Coleman did this. Making it loud and clear, he says, “Well, you are not Ronnie Coleman, to begin with.” During the podcast episode, Stan gives a deep insight into what goes into bodybuilding. He highlights the importance of sleep and stresses building the foundation for long-term success.

He speaks about the importance of being informed. He acknowledges science and the contribution it has to bodybuilding. According to him, it’s not just the scientific advancements but also the power of the internet that has made it more convenient for the younger generation to learn.

It may have been decades since Ronnie Coleman retired, but his name has become immortal in bodybuilding. Despite staying away from professional bodybuilding, the man remains an inspiration to the new generation of bodybuilders.
