Born in Solihull, England, Dorian Yates is a professional bodybuilder. From 1992 to 1997, Yates won the Mr. Olympia title for six consecutive years.

The bodybuilding world knew Yates for his sturdy and muscular back and HIIT workouts. HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training sessions. Furthermore, he is a legendary bodybuilder who won every single contest he participated in during his bodybuilding days.

Dorian Yates shares a photo from his prime years

Recently, “The Shadow” a.k.a. Dorian Yates, took to Instagram to share a photo from his bodybuilding days. The picture, as explained by Yates in the caption, is from 1993. The “Muscle monster” had posed for the photo after his workout at the Gold Gym when he visited LA during the off-season.

Additionally, Yates mentioned his role model, Mike Mentzer, in the caption. Mike has been an inspiration for him throughout his career. Yates learned about the HIIT workouts from Mike. Moreover, he has gone on record to say that it was Mike’s individuality, rugged physique, and wisdom that inspired him the most.

The caption of his recent post read, “Here’s a throwback to 1993. This was taken post workout in the posing room at the famous Gold’s Gym… weighing around 295 lbs. It was in the off season where I was in the States guest posing and stopped off for a week in LA. Although he retired in 1997, Yates still has a massive fan base. Even after two decades, he remains relevant in the industry as the youth look up to his journey. Having said that, Dorian has over 1.5M followers on his Instagram account alone. Additionally, he has 83.9k subscribers on his Youtube channel.

Naturally, fans were quick to react as the legend shared the photo. A fan commented, “Inspired everyone to up their intensify game, like a meteor that hit the bodybuilding world and instantly made the 80’a style of training and attitude obsolete.” Adding to the inspiration bit, another fan wrote, “My myth, physically, spiritually and intellectually, Dorian is my myth♥️”
