And it was perhaps the case of the behemoth size of Ronnie Coleman, the legendary bodybuilder, back in the day. Coleman, aka ‘The King,’ in an interview with Joe Rogan, a renowned celebrity podcaster, once clarified the popular speculation about his diet.

The 5′ 11 bodybuilding beast weighed 130-150 kg in his prime.He boasted an enviable body with 58.5 cm arms, 88 cm thighs, and a wide 147 cm chest. The audience would go crazy as they watched the legend flex his muscles and strike a pose.
Not to forget the superhuman strength he exhibited in his intensive workout sessions. He lifted weights ranging between 150 kg–350 kg and more. Going through the jaw-dropping numbers, it was natural to ask ‘What on earth does he eat?’
Ronnie Coleman compared himself with baseball players
Coleman and Joe Rogan discussed various aspects of bodybuilding and Ronnie’s journey in the sport. Talking about his diet, Ronnie shared, “I wasn’t taking tons of stuff.” Explaining further, he said he wasn’t eating more than baseball players eat typically.
He continued that his muscular physique and incredible strength are a result of “working out and lifting more.” In addition, he said he was gifted genetically. Joe replied, “Dorian Yates said basically the same thing.” Agreeing with Joe, Ronnie said he wasn’t eating as imagined by a lot of people.
Moreover, he said if he ate such massive amounts, “I don’t think I’d be as healthy as I am now.” He continued that besides his back and neck surgeries, he was all good. “My living, my kidneys and heart and everything’s still holding up real good.”
A sneak peek into Coleman’s diet
The accounts graduate turned police officer turned bodybuilding beast, Ronnie, set the bar high in the sport. To fuel his preparation, he ate the right meals diligently. He followed a nutritious and protein-rich diet including chicken, lean beef, eggs, oatmeal, rice, beans, potatoes, and vegetables.

Conversely, during the off-season, he feasted on hamburgers and fried chicken. He weighed five-ten kgs more during the off-season. “Boring but effective,” he ate chicken and a lot of vegetables to shed weight.
