Bodybuilding legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger, had a rough childhood. Despite many difficulties, he managed to follow his passion. His passion was immense for bodybuilding, and he showed that to the world, winning the Mr. Olympia title seven times. He is also a man with diverse skills, which he has showcased in areas such as acting, business, and politics.

Back in 2019, in an interview, three-time Mr. Olympia Frank Zane was asked about the 1968 Mr. Olympia. During the competition, he was up against none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was just in his emerging stage. Zane had straight answers regarding all the questions, but he wasn’t arrogant.
One bodybuilding legend against another
It sounds interesting to have two bodybuilding legends like Frank Zane and Arnold Schwarzenegger standing side by side. They both also had eyes on the Mr. Olympia title, and the rest is history.

“I was in shape and he wasn’t,” Zane said and continued, “It is as simply as that.” As one can say, this is a direct hit! Zane was pretty confident about his answer. Zane was in proper shape, whereas Schwarzenegger lacked it. He was muscular, defined, and tanned, which gave him an advantage over Schwarzenegger.

Zane said, “But in 68 there wasn’t any contest between him and me.” He even appreciated the way Schwarzenegger dominated the entire scene after losing to Zane. 1968 wasn’t just a lucky year for the Austrian Oak.
Frank Zane was also one of the three people that Schwarzenegger ever lost to on the stage of Mr. Olympia.
The dominance of Arnold Schwarzenegger

Despite being hailed as a legend of the sport, Schwarzenegger has also tasted defeat on the big stage. He lost in the years 1967, 1968, and 1969, Mr. Olympia, but he never gave up.

Schwarzenegger went on a winning streak from 1970 until 1975. After winning Mr. Olympia six times consecutively, the Austrian Oak decided to take his retirement from bodybuilding in 1980 and start his journey in acting.
