Reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique champion, Chris Bumstead recently got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Courtney King. The recent news has brought Courtney to the limelight. While many fans may know her as CBum’s partner and future wife, she recently revealed unknown secrets about her childhood in a heartfelt interview. In the interview with Raw Nutrition, Courtney opened up about her upbringing and the struggles she faced as a child. She also revealed how she started drinking at a very young age. 

Courtney delved into her past to give a candid interview about her struggles and motivations. She shared that she grew up in Chicago, where her parents worked hard to provide for their family. However, she got into bad company in high school.

What was the reason behind Courtney’s alcohol dependency?

In the 30th episode of the Raw Nutrition podcast, titled Building Self-Worth w/ Courtney King, Courtney revealed that she had a difficult relationship with her parents, who were getting divorced when she was in eighth grade. As a result, she got into the difficult habit of consuming alcohol. “I was smoking w**d and drinking alcohol in eighth grade.” She shared that her addiction put a strain on their family and led to many challenges.

Courtney added that her parents were not very happy with it, and decided to take her to a private school. However, according to her, she got into these habits just to grab her parent’s attention as they had several differences. “I think I was just trying to get my parents’ attention because they were going through a divorce I was just trying to be the Rebel girl”. However, the fitness freak has come to terms with her difficult past as she eyes to spend her life with the champion Bodybuilder.
