Winning the prestigious title of Mr. Olympia is not child’s play, and winning it back to back eight times is nothing but “exceptional.” Having achieved that feat already, Ronnie Coleman is undeniably one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. He also holds the record for the most number of IFBB professional wins with 26 titles.

The journey of Ronnie as a bodybuilder was not intentional. Working in the Police department, Ronnie had no wish to be a bodybuilding professional, but nature had its course planned. While in the Police, ‘The King” came across various incidents.

The news that Ronnie finds difficult to forget

Life is unexpected, and the list of unforeseen moments even multiplies further when you are deployed as a Police Officer. While in the department, Ronnie came across varying incidents; while some were good memories, others were hard to forget, as he said, “There’s so many different things.”

When asked what’s the one “worst thing” that he experienced while on duty, Ronnie walked down memory lane; in a sad voice, the legend replied, the homicide that I mentioned in the book.” Continuing further in the interview, Ronnie described the ‘Shooting in Arlington’ as “the worst thing that I(Ronnie) saw.”

Trying to get home early that day, he wasn’t expecting to get a real shooting call.” Narrating further, Ronnie clarifies that the area “wasn’t real bad.” Thus, when the news came, Ronnie was caught “real off guard” The memories are so vivid that he said, “I can still see images of that today.”

The day at the Police station that changed the life of Ronnie Coleman

Coleman never imagined that a typical day at the police station would be a turning point in his life. He was on his usual work schedule when an officer asked about the place where he used to work out. Upon realizing that Coleman used to work in a room that was “about the size of a bathroom,” he took him somewhere special.

The officer took Ronnie to the ‘Metroflex Gym.’ It was the gym owner who realized Ronnie’s potential in professional bodybuilding.
