Eddie Hall is among the most famous strongman athletes on the planet. Since making his debut over a decade ago, Edward Hall quickly rose through the ranks, establishing himself as a stand-out in the world of Strongman. From 2012 onward, Hall improved constantly, and in 2017, he won the World’s Strongest Man competition. After a short stint in boxing, ‘The Best’ has now turned his attention to bodybuilding. After announcing his intention to compete at Mr. Olympia, Eddie Hall now trains for maximum hypertrophy.
While ‘The Best’ has no shortage of experience in moving massive weights in the gym, training for hypertrophy and training for strength are not the same. Hence, the former WSM winner has enlisted the help of pro bodybuilder Jaime ‘The Giant’ Christain. In his latest video, Eddie Hall and his son Maximus Hall joined Christain for an intense chest day.

At the beginning of the video, Christian suggested that Eddie Hall try something different. While many people start their chest day with pressing movements because “the strength is there,” Hall already has “plenty of that,” explained the pro bodybuilder. Thus the IFBB pro showed the former strongman competitor how to work out on the peck deck machine. Christian instructed Hall on how to control the temp and when to pause during each rep.
In Strongman training, the athlete has more extended rest periods between sets, and the goal is to lift extremely heavy. However, the IFBB pro showed hall how to reach failure with less weight while controlling that weight throughout the entire range of motion. After starting the workout on the peck deck, Hall moved on to the inclined bench press and eventually finished a variation of the cable crossover.
Hall’s son, Maximus, did all the movements after his dad. The former boxer also thanked ‘The Giant’ for training him. Hall said he learned a lot of things about “time under tension.” Hall also said his sessions with Jamie Christian have been “very eye-opening.” According to the former WSM winner, his last back session with the IFBB Pro “really did open my eyes to some of the sets and reps and tempos and everything we should be doing.”
Eddie Hall’s bodybuilding dreams
Last month, Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall shared a video on Facebook captioned, “Putting in the work for Mr. Olympia.” On January 9, the former Strongman had also talked about starting his bodybuilding journey and competing in Mr. Olympia. Hall plans to bulk up to put on muscle in the coming months.

After the bulk, Hall plans to go on cutting his body fat levels to look shredded before stepping onto the bodybuilding stage. Since announcing his plans, ‘The Beast’ has uploaded videos with bodybuilder Jessie James West and Jamie ‘The Giant’ Christian. While Hall seems quite serious about starting in bodybuilding, only time will tell if he finds success in bodybuilding.
